Choir Mission Statement

Music is a universal language that transcends divisions: denominations; beliefs; and perhaps religion itself. The choirs of The First Church of Deerfield draw on and expand the rich tradition of sacred choral music by presenting each week works from the Middle Ages to the present day. We strive to make music that will move the listener, creating an atmosphere in which they can leave their daily lives behind. We recognize that this is a serious endeavor, yet it is one that we approach in a spirit of fun and joy. We as individuals, while diverse in our abilities, join together under expert leadership to form a beautiful choir that is greater than the sum of its parts.
